My paintings reflect an attempt to visually organize thought using personal symbol and identity. It is through visual reference that I discern and understand.

Existing in a vague environment, random thought becomes portrait - portrait initiates symbol, and symbol assigns interpretation. This sequence occurs in an environment blurred between positive and negative - real and imagined.

This sequence unfolds in an equilateral construct that implies neither portrait nor landscape, but serves as a disinterested ground in which thought and interpretation may freely flow.
